a lot of days lost in the mists

The wifi here on isle of man doesn't let me post from my phone, so the things I have made are still secrets to you, dear readers.

I've been sick and mostly just crocheted on my big blanket project though. Feeling better now so I'm going to try to catch up. Pics when I get home probably, I am on vacation after all!

Day 24; fever

Last night I got a fever. After a lot of hours on airports and planes. Today I've been sleeping until the evening so we'll see if I can manage to make anything.

Day 23; African flower

Today I crocheted an African flower from a book that I found at a friends place. I'll try to remember what the book was called. Because I don't remember now.

Day 22; a silly self portrait

I fell asleep and slept all through the evening and now it's really late but I drew a bunch of stuff that I was really unhappy with and then finally a not very great but good enough selfie.

Day 19; a box

A folded origami box from card stock paper. In the background; a shitload of stuff to put in it.

Day 18; another glass

I'm on a date tonight so the creation isn't very original.

Day 17; still life/glass

Here's a picture of a glass. Cheers!

Wip; granny blanket in summery colors

Crocheting going well! I already love this project. The colors are some of my favorites. Want more dark pink before I continue and I know it's going to be difficult to wait!

Day 16; robot girl

Serious-ish drawing today! A robot girl, inspired by a game a new friend is designing.

--- edit---
Inked it later in the evening.
She lost her ear and eyebrows.

Day 15; a secret

Today I made a gift. So pics will come after the gift is received.

Day 14; hello

Lettering! It says hello! In swedish! I'm a bit drunk so this is what you get.

Day 13; mittens!

Shown here; one of two mittens because I only have two hands and needed one of them to take the picture. Knitted in moss stitch on 4.5 mm needles. The yarn was a gift but I think it's järbo.

There's a crocheted edge at the bottom and top.

They match the nipple hat from day 10!

Day 12; midnight cop out number two

A drawing! Yay! The real project didn't get finished due to lack of black embroidery thread and the total chaos on my desk that makes any possible black thread I might own impossible to find.

Day ten; the nipple hat

Well. I finished a hat. Now people can call me "boob head".

Not much more to say. It's the second time I finished it but I'm not super pleased this time either. But I don't think I'll remake it again. Cause meh.

Day nine; not my greatest work

So yeah it started out looking pretty good but the finished product is not awesome. It looks like a blob.

But my new years resolution was not to make an awesome thing every day, just a finished one.

The start of something great

Granny blanket thingie!

Day eight - longing for springtime

A little flower embroidery. I consider it finished but I might work more on it later.

Day seven

Today is not an awesome day. But I did put silver leaf on the earring I modified yesterday. So that's a thing.

I'm making a pretty horrible embroidery. So. Uhm.

Bad day. But I did make a thing. (I also drew a really bad tree.)

Granny squares

So nothing new today exept the earring, spent all my time on a bigger project. A granny square blanket I've been working on for a couple of weeks. I've got 60 finished squares and a small pile of unfinished ones. A real blanket would need about two or three hundred squares but sadly I can't afford that much yarn so I guess it will be a baby blanket or a scarf maybe?

Here's a process pic for you anyway.

Day six... Part one?

So I made a thing! Or did I just modify a thing? I took an earring that started to lose color and put some paper clay on it. When it's dry I'll probably put silver leaf on it.

Soooo... I think I'll make something else too. Maybe. Apart from the laundry.

Sunday bonus!

Hey look I made little socks for my chair... Stool?

Now it won't leave marks on the wood floor!

Day five - finished bag!

I upcykled my broken cargo pants! Now I have a bag and a pile of small pant peices!

I'm very pleased!

Midnight cop-out

So bag making is HARD! It's midnight now - past midnight - and I can't with good conscience keep using the sewing machine. So today's creation is three small cards that I'm going to keep in my wallet and give to people.

They're sized after my Visa card so that they can be kept in wallets. For cheering up.

More prep...

It's day four and I'm doing research for today's project. Might not be able to make the thing I wanted to make, which is a bag. So I might need to come up with a new idea. We'll see where the research takes me, maybe a small purse? Maybe a new paper clay animal? Maybe a ... Drawing?

day 3 - paper clay turtle

I made a little turtle out of paper clay! It was a bit harder then I anticipated but I managed to make this little guy. In a few days when he's dry and good I'll paint him and stuff but he's a thing that I made so its okay.

day 2 - skirt

I made a skirt! Its a very simpel cirkle pattern with an old t shirt as a hem. The whole thing was finished so fast I didn't even have time to take process pics. Some measuring, some cutting and some sawing and voila! Done.
Two layers soft pink tulle and a simple "yoga"-ish hem. I'm very pleased.

Day 1 - hand lettering artwork

My first day of my 2014 creativity challenge/resolution. It's the swedish word for "c*nt" - "f*tta". I chose it because I want to try to change the way we use the word. I want it to be a good word, because it is a good thing. The lettering is (actually not intentionally) made to look like the word "like" ("gilla") and I like that detail.
                                                        sketches of the letter "F"
                                                        finished final sketch
                                          first layer of ink
                                          all the pencil gone!

                                                                      the finished picture!

The classic typography problem "fi" was interesting to handle.
